Jerry's Garden was inspired by Tanner’s Father who passed away the same day our baby girl Lilly Grace was born. To honor of his memory and his love of gardening, every year we come together as a family and plant a fresh garden in hopes of growing beautiful produce.
Every May 5th, we come together with our amazing neighbors and "co-garden". It’s a wonderful hands on experience for all of us and provides a chance to get our hands dirty by working the land and planting seeds. We plant a plethora of fruits and vegetables, including various types of Tomatoes, Green Beans, Okra, various Peppers, Corn, Squash, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Pumpkins, Berry Bushes, Potatoes, Cilantro, Lettuce, Spinach, Chocolate Mint. We also plant a variety of flowers, especially Tiger Lillies and Elephant Ears, since they were Jerry’s favorite. Most of the seeds we plant successfully produce for us, and the things that don't work out so well, we just compost. From mid July through October most produce will be harvested and incorporated in our home cooked meals and available for purchase from our truck.
